Most of this started as something I needed at home — a sensor that didn’t exist, an API nobody had bothered to wrap, a number I wanted on a dashboard. It got cleaned up, documented and released as open source because it turned out other people needed the same thing.

It’s the same work as the websites, pointed at a different problem: read the protocol, handle the failures, ship something that keeps running when nobody’s watching it. No API keys to beg for, no telemetry, no maintenance debt handed back to you.
